SHOSHONE -- The lightning-caused Lagoon fire burning near Shoshone has been contained.

The fire, which has burned over 1,400 acres and forced dozens of residents to evacuate, was declared 100-percent contained at 8:25 p.m. Friday, the Twin Falls District Bureau of Land Management said. The estimated control time is 8 p.m. Sunday night.

Crews are monitoring and mopping up hot spots.

Six engines, three hand crews, two dozers, two overhead, and one camp crew were still assigned to the fire Saturday morning.

The Lagoon Fire started early Tuesday.
