Three people involved in a crash on U.S. Highway 93 in southern Twin Falls County are in the hospital.
Idaho State Police began investigating at about 11 p.m. Friday.
They say a Daniel Ray, 43, of Jerome, was driving northbound on the highway in a 1997 Dodge Van, and Arthur Johnson, 68, of Portland, Ore., was driving behind Ray in a 2009 Buick Enclave, when Ray pulled over to the right shoulder about four-and-a-half miles north of the Idaho-Nevada state line.
Police say Johnson continued northbound when Ray re-entered the lane of travel and struck Johnson's car, which crossed over to the left shoulder and struck a berm. Ray's van went back onto the right shoulder and rolled onto the driver's side.
Ray was flown to the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. His passenger, Jennifer Heffern, 43, of Tacoma, Wash., was taken by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley in Twin Falls. Johnson was also taken to St. Luke's Magic Valley.
The northbound lane of U.S. 93 was blocked for about four hours.
