MCCAMMON, Idaho - Three people died at the scene of a head-on crash in eastern Idaho Sunday afternoon, Idaho State Police said.
It happened just after 12:30 p.m. on US 30 near McCammon. Police say two juveniles were traveling west on the highway in a pickup truck when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with an SUV, driven by 70-year-old Jay Lanningham, of Nampa.
Lanningham and both juveniles in the pickup truck died at the scene. A juvenile passenger in Lanningham's vehicle was injured and taken by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
Investigators have not released the identities of the two juveniles who were killed.
Police said everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.
The road was blocked for more than five hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
