WENDELL, Idaho - An Emmett woman died while being airlifted to a Boise hospital after a crash on Interstate 84 Sunday afternoon.

According to Idaho State Police, 66-year-old Karol Grenier was driving west on I-84 near Wendell when her car went off the left shoulder. Grenier overcorrected, went off the right shoulder and through a fence where the car rolled.

Grenier was thrown from the vehicle. She was being transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise when she died from her injuries, police said.

According to ISP, there were "multiple" juveniles in the vehicle who were wearing seatbelts, and were not injured.

Several lanes of the freeway were blocked for about one hour while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
