Idaho Lottery debuts first-of-its-kind game

The new game is a clear plastic ticket that is made from recycled materials.

BOISE -- We got a special sneak peek today at a brand new game from the Idaho Lottery.

Officials say it is a first of its kind anywhere in the world.

The game is a clear plastic ticket, made from recycled materials that are 100% recyclable. You can see right through the ticket.

It is also an interactive ticket that can be accessed through smartphones and PCs.

The top half scratches off for a unique QR code that you scan through a special mobile app.

From there you see if the digital logos match the ticket for a winner.

The bottom half scratches off like a traditional ticket.

It is new technology, the Idaho Lottery is proud to be pioneering.

"We like to be first, especially in our industry to try things. Idaho is a really unique place, a lot of scratch tickets are not sold around us so we are kind of a good test market for new ideas and new technology and products to be introduced across the industry and across the country," said Idaho Lottery spokesman David Workman.

You can look for the new ticket in stores next week when it debuts.

It will cost $5, with a top prize worth $50,000.

As always, the Idaho Lottery reminds you to play responsibly.
