Life in an animal shelter "through their eyes"

Meridian Canine Rescue staff and volunteers provided some insight on life in an animal shelter from the perspective of dogs awaiting adoption Friday night, in a fundraiser called "Through Their Eyes."

The participants spent the night inside kennels with the dogs.

Caitlyn, a Meridian Canine Rescue staff member, said they were allowed out of the kennels just three times a day.

"We're only allowed to eat when they eat," she said. "Some of them eat three times a day, some of them eat twice, so it just kind of depends on which dog you're with, so it's going to be an interesting experience, that's for sure."

The sleepover is documented on Meridian Canine Rescue's Facebook page.
