Hundreds take the plunge for Special Olympics

The folks who ran into the icy waters at Eagle Island State Park are helping to send a Special Olympics Idaho team to the USA Games this summer.

Hundreds of people were freezin’ for a reason Saturday at Eagle Island State Park.

Those who made cash donations to Special Olympics Idaho splashed into some cold water for the annual Penguin Plunge.

Special Olympics Idaho plans to use some of the proceeds from the event to send a delegation of about 20 people to represent Idaho in the Special Olympics USA Games, scheduled for July 1-6 in Seattle.

Information about volunteering or making a donation is at this website.
