BOISE - Summer is almost here! Kids might be happy to be done with school for a few months, but parents are often left searching for activities to keep them busy.

KTVB's Maggie O'Mara put together a list of fun things to do in the city of Caldwell as part of Free Family Fun Week on Today's Morning News. Check them out below:

Meet Me Monday

A free family walk/run program held every Monday year round. Sign in at Stewart’s Bar & Grill at 2805 Blaine St. beginning at 5:15 p.m. Closing ceremonies are held from 6:45 to 7 p.m. each Monday. Participants can earn Meet Me Monday gear for attending 8, 16, 50 and 100 times. This event is sponsored by St. Alphonsus and Bandanna Running & Walking.

Farmers Market

Wednesdays in the Indian Creek Park at Blaine St. & Kimball Ave. from 3 to 7 p.m. Local vendors and live music!

Family Fun Day

On June 10 at Whittenberger Park & Rotary Pond you'll find the Caldwell color run, a kid's fishing derby, a chalk art contest, and archery instruction at the Rotary Archery Range from Archery Central. There will be jump houses, the Canyon Bike Project, and kids get a free lunch! This event is sponsored by the City of Caldwell, Caldwell Rotary, Let’s Move! Caldwell, Advocates Against Family Violence, St. Luke’s, Canyon Bike Project, Caldwell Housing Authority, Archery Central, and the Caldwell YMCA.

Centennial Band Concert Series

Concerts are held at the Memorial Park Bandshell beginning at 6:30 p.m. June 26, July 10, July 24, August 7, and August 21.

Independence Day Celebration

On July 4 the Grand Parade begins at 9 a.m. You'll get free admission to the Caldwell pool at 512 Harrison St. from 1 to 6 p.m. A car show, children’s games, and other fun events will be held at Memorial Park, and an evening fireworks display begins at dusk at Brothers Park.

Kicking Off the School Year

On August 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Griffiths Park an event sponsored by Canyon County Juvenile Probation highlights issues facing our kids in school and provides valuable information and resources to the community. There will be bounce houses, vendors, games, and food.

Canyon Acoustic Music Festival

On August 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. and August 26 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Memorial Park Bandshell there will be live music, a car show, vendors, and food trucks.
