Nursing students from Boise State University are trying to make life a little easier for refugees by sponsoring a health, hygiene and safety fair.
On Saturday, the students taught the refugees about bike and helmet safety, car seat safety, CPR and first aid.
The students said they want to educate refugees on things they might not be familiar with so they can be safe in the community.
“Every day is just such a rewarding and gratifying experience to kind of take a minute and be in their shoes,” nursing student Brooke Prescott said. “See what they've gone through and to know that they have people here who care about them and want to support them."
This is part of the community health nursing class at Boise State. The university partners with the Agency for New Americans for that class.
