BOISE - A 21-year-old suspect is in custody after a fatal shooting in a West Boise neighborhood Sunday evening.

The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. on Five Mile Road, just south of Edna Street. According to the Boise Police Department, officers arrived to find a deceased male at the scene.

Jacob Douglas Wall of Boise was arrested overnight on a charge of second-degree murder. Investigators say Wall and the victim - who has not yet been identified - got into a fight before Wall shot the other man.

Police say Wall remained on scene after the shooting, and was taken into custody after being interviewed. The homicide remains under investigation, but Boise Police Lt. Patrick Avella said police don't believe there are any more suspects at large.

"We don't believe there's anyone outstanding, we don't believe there's any threat to the community," he said. "We are interviewing multiple witnesses to see what went on."

One neighbor who contacted KTVB says she heard two quick gunshots, then a third about five seconds later. Stephanie Rabon, who lives about two blocks away from the shooting scene, said she called 911, then drove to the scene where she saw a body lying in the street.

Shoes and other articles of clothing remained scattered in the street Sunday night, marked with evidence numbers. Five Mile Road was blocked off as officers investigated the shooting.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and working to piece together the murder. Anyone with information on the shooting who has not already spoken with police is asked to call 343-COPS or Ada County Dispatch at 377-6790.

Wall is due to appear in court Monday afternoon. If convicted of second-degree murder, he could face up to life in prison.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
