HAINES, Oregon -- Four young people were injured when the car they were riding in was struck by a train Monday night.
The collision happened at Front and Fourth streets in Haines, Oregon just after 9 p.m.
According to the Baker County Sheriff's Office, a train was stopped on the tracks and the crossing arms was lowered when the car's driver drove around the arms and onto the tracks.
The vehicle was then struck by a second train, headed southbound.
The four occupants inside the car were identified as 19-year-old Cade Browne, 19-year-old Samantha Sexton, 18-year-old Jacob Sexton and 21-year-old Sally Blair.
The women were airlifted by LifeFlight to hospitals outside of the area, while the male patients were taken to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City.
No members of the train crew were injured. The crash remains under investigation.
