CALDWELL -- Four people were taken to the hospital after a pickup truck and a car collided in a Caldwell intersection Thursday morning.

The crash happened at 8:49 a.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Boulevard and 18th Avenue.

Caldwell Police say the car's driver was headed east on 18th Avenue when she stopped briefly at a stop sign, then pulled out into traffic. Her car was then struck by a pickup truck driving on Cleveland.

Traffic on Cleveland Boulevard is not required to stop at that intersection.

Two adults and a child in the car had to be extricated from the wreckage, police say. All three, along with the driver of the pickup, were taken by ambulance to St. Luke's in Meridian.

All of the injuries appeared to be minor, according to police. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the car was cited for failure to yield and failure to purchase a driver's license.

The road was clear by 9:06 a.m., police say.
