JEROME - Two people have died after a two-vehicle crash near Jerome Saturday night.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of 150 West and 100 North, just northwest of Jerome.

According to Idaho State Police, 20-year-old Shentasha Bybee of Rexburg was driving north on 150 West when she failed to yield for a stop sign and her car collided with a minivan, driven by 48-year-old Luis Ortiz Vega of Jerome.

Police say two people died when a car collided with a mini-van near Jerome Saturday night.

Two passengers in Ortiz Vega's vehicle died. 44-year-old Martina Rivera Sandoval of Jerome died at the scene, and a juvenile later died at the hospital, police said.

Several people from both vehicles were flown to hospitals in Boise, while others were taken to St. Luke's in Jerome. Their conditions are not known at this point.

The intersection was blocked for more than five hours as police worked to clear the scene.

Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
