EAGLE -- One person was taken to the hospital after the car he was driving was struck by a truck on Highway 44 in Eagle Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at about 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 44 and Edgewood Lane.

According to Eagle Police, the driver of a black passenger car was headed east on Highway 44 when he attempted to make a left turn in front of an oncoming truck. The truck, which was pulling a trailer, crashed into the right side of the car.

The impact caused the trailer to tip onto its side, although the truck remained upright.

The car's driver was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, but police say his injuries did not appear life-threatening.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

The crash blocked one lane of Highway 44, but has since been cleared. The collision remains under investigation.
