POCATELLO, Idaho — The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation is giving a big gift to Idaho State University.

The foundation's executive director announced that it is donating $2 million to ISU.

The university will use the money to renovate the William M. and Karin A. Eames Advanced Technical Education and Innovations Complex.

In February 2017, ISU announced plans to relocate a number of College of Technology programs into the Eames Complex to meet growing enrollment. The university plans to make it the premier center for technical education in Idaho.

“The co-location of these advanced manufacturing, diesel and automotive-related programs will provide opportunities for advanced technical research and enhanced prospects for business and industry collaboration. All of these together mean new and interesting horizons for Idaho students,” said ISU College of Technology Dean Scott Rasmussen.

The total cost of fully renovating the facility and moving programs is estimated to be about $22 million.
