ONTARIO -- An Ontario man was taken into custody Wednesday, just one day after police say he robbed a bank on 4th Avenue.

The robbery happened at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday at the Washington Federal Bank in Ontario. Police say the robber, who was wearing a black hat and a wig, walked into the bank and threatened an employee, getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police identified 63-year-old David Michael Johnson of Ontario as their suspect after receiving tips from members of the public. An Ontario Police officer spotted Johnson in his car and pulled him over.

If convicted, Johnson could face up to life in prison.
