PAYETTE - The son of a woman who was injured in a crash Thursday evening along U.S. Highway 95 in Payette is now suspected of intentionally forcing her off of the road, and authorities are asking for the public’s help to locate him.

In a news release sent Saturday afternoon, the Payette County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest warrant has been issued for Roger Wayne Lincoln, 58, of Payette. The charges on the warrant are for aggravated battery, intimidating a witness, leaving the scene of an injury collision, and intentional destruction of a telecommunication line or telecommunication instrument. Bail has been set at $1 million.

The sheriff’s office says investigators believe Roger Lincoln intentionally forced his mother, an 80-year-old woman, off the road while she was attempting to drive to the sheriff’s office for assistance.

The crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 95 north of NE 19th Avenue. When deputies arrived, they found the woman injured. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officers with Idaho State Police and the Payette Police Department assisted.

The Payette County Sheriff’s Office says Roger Lincoln is currently not in custody, and may be driving a red 1999 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
