MERIDIAN - A man is behind bars after an armed robbery Saturday night at a Meridian yogurt shop.

Meridian Police says 33-year-old Lance Warr was armed with an 18-inch machete stolen from Fred Meyer earlier that day when officers confronted him.

Around 7:45 p.m. officers were called to the TCBY shop on North Locust Grove Road, just north of Fairview Avenue. Upon arriving, officers determined that Warr had robbed several customers of money, credit cards, wallets and their identification. He had also demanded money from employees.

Officers chased Warr on foot into a nearby neighborhood where he was tased and taken into custody without further incident.

He was booked into the Ada County Jail on four felony counts of robbery, one misdemeanor count of resisting and obstructing officers, one felony count of malicious injury to property and one misdemeanor count of malicious injury to property.

The machete used in the robbery and all items stolen from customers was recovered by police. No one was injured.
