KUNA -- An Idaho City woman who left her children unattended so she could go buy alcohol is facing felony charges, the Ada County Sheriff's Office says.
Angela R. Nelson, 33, was taken into custody Saturday morning.
According to the sheriff's office, a concerned citizen called Kuna Police officers at about 9:30 a.m. Officers went out to the house near Luker and King roads and found Nelson asleep, while another adult watched the children.
Investigators say they found evidence that the 8-year-old and 10-month-old were left by themselves in the house while Nelson went to a local store to buy two cans of Four Loko.
When officers asked the 8-year-old if she knew what to do if there was an emergency while her mother was not around, the child said she did not know.
Nelson was arrested and charged with two felony counts of injury to a child. Both children were placed with family members.
Felony injury to a child is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
