NAMPA -- A Columbia High School student was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after an altercation with her boyfriend.

Nampa Police say two 17-year-old students were in the school parking lot around 1 p.m. when the male attacked her with a knife.

Another male student stepped in and stopped the attack.

The female was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries to her arm.

The male student was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

There is no continued threat to the school.
