BOISE -- A Boise man is facing a felony charge after authorities say he badly injured a woman in an attack last month.

Scott Alan Schilling, 28, was arrested Friday, the day after Ada County Sheriff's Office deputies found out about the assault.

According to the sheriff's office, Schilling punched and choked the victim at a home in south Ada County in September. Deputies began investigating after they were called to a local hospital Thursday.

Officials say the woman suffered "significant facial injuries." The attack was not random.

Schilling was charged with aggravated battery and booked into the Ada County Jail, where he remains on a $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 24.

If convicted, Schilling could face up to 15 years in prison.
