BOISE -- One person was taken to the hospital after a late-night shooting in a Boise neighborhood Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched at about 11:20 p.m. to a house in the 7000 block of Wesley Drive, in the area of Cole Road and Fairview Avenue.

According to Boise Police, officers arrived to find a man with "non-gunshot related injuries." He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Authorities have not released the severity of the man's injuries or how they happened.

Witnesses in the area heard four or five gunshots. It's unclear whether the shooter has been taken into custody, or remains on the loose.

Dispatchers say officers were at the house investigating for hours, but have since cleared the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
