BOISE - The annual 'Santa Claws' event helps put pet owners in the Christmas spirit, and helps raise money for a group that aims to reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs in Idaho.

Spay and Neuter Idaho Pets, or SNIP, is teaming up with Bark 'n' Purr in Vista Village for SNIP Santa Claws on Saturday and Sunday, December 9 and 10.

You can bring your pet to the store between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and take a picture with Santa. The photo costs $20, and the proceeds go to SNIP.

"We've created an organization that has low-cost, affordable spay and neutering," said Diane Ayres, SNIP executive director. "51 percent of the people, we fix their pets. We usually pay up to 100 percent to do that, and that's why we do events like this."

Bark 'n' Purr is located at 1036 S. Vista Avenue in Boise.
