BOISE -- Over 200 people from several organizations, including the Idaho State Historical Society, the City of Boise and the East Boise Rotary Club, came together to clean up a community staple.

Organizers of the event say they are on a mission to give back to the iconic landmark and to everyone who enjoys using it.

Dustyn Stevens, an organizer of the event, said some volunteers had trouble finding any trash to pick up.

"That's a good sign, we're spreading awareness hopefully.," Stevens said about hikers using the trail. "We're getting the word out, so that's good."
