Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center's neonatal intensive care unit celebrated past NICU graduates, families and staff Saturday afternoon during its annual harvest party.
The party allows families and former patients to reconnect with staff while celebrating children who have overcome health challenges.
Children were all dressed up in Halloween costumes and had a great time with games, prizes and treats.
One mother we talked to says her family has a close connection to everyone at the Saint Al's NICU.
"It's so comforting to be around these people," Jessica Walston said. "When we were in the NICU, we moved here just ten days before, and so the staff here at the hospital became our family."
Brynleigh was born August 19 of last year, at 25 weeks and three days -- about three months premature.
At birth, she weighed just one pound, one ounce, and was 11 inches long.
Brynleigh stayed in the NICU for 122 days.
