1 Zeppole Village Loaf
24 oz granulated sugar
1 oz ground cinnamon
1 lb unsalted butter
powdered sugar


Mix the sugar and cinnamon thoroughly and place in a mixing bowl.

Melt the butter until it reaches liquid form.

Cut the bottom crust off of the Village Loaf loaf. Also trim all four edges of the loaf.

Cut the loaf into “Twig size” portions – approximately 3” X 6”.

Submerge the Twig into the melted butter, remove from the butter and squeeze excess butter from the Twig.

Roll the Twig in the sugar and cinnamon mixture, then shake off excess sugar and cinnamon mix.

Place Twig on baking pan.


Toaster Oven –

Place Twigs on rack in toaster oven. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 20 minutes until golden brown.

Commercial/Home Oven –

Place Twigs on sheet pan and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.

Let cool, then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve whole, halved or sliced.

Un-baked Twigs can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated or frozen for baking at a later date.
