Saturday was the 26th annual Octoberfest Parking Lot and Car Show Party at the Idaho State Veterans Home.
Yellow ribbons were displayed to show support for troops deployed overseas.
Individuals and members of various car clubs around the Treasure Valley displayed their vintage cars and trucks to compete for awards.
But volunteer activities coordinator Phil Hawkins says this is really about taking care of our veterans.
"This is a great country we live in, and we have to realize that important events like this are what keeps us, our country strong," Hawkins said. "So whenever you can do anything for somebody else, do it."
The event raised $1,080 that will go toward providing activities for Veterans Home residents and for their annual Christmas party.
