New study says that pasta isn't making you gain weight

A new study says that the carbs with the worst rep, might not be the thing that are making you gain!

Break out the linguini! Pasta is getting a good reputation.

In a new study from St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, they sought out to clear the name of everyone’s favorite Italian classic. The research took 2,000 participants and placed them on a 12 week, low-glycemic diet with pasta interspersed throughout meals. In general, this low-glycemic diet basically focused on foods that keep you fuller for longer. In total, the serving size was 3 servings of pasta per week per person. However at the end of the 12 weeks, participants had lost weight!

The study says that pasta isn’t the food making your body fat increase, and when regulated with a healthy varied diet, it isn’t actually that bad. Now, sadly this isn’t an excuse to gorge on spaghetti, but it does make you feel a little better when you reach for the box of penne.
