Kate Morris was named Executive News Director for the KTVB News Group in 2011. She is an award winning television producer with more than fifteen years experience in news and television.
Kate is responsible for all aspects of Idaho's highest-rated and most-watched local news station, including the overall day-to-day management and coordination of the correspondents, news staff and the on-air production for the station.
Kate has been the executive producer of numerous KTVB breaking reports and special broadcasts, including KTVB's coverage of the Boise State Broncos since 2008, KTVB's political and debate coverage since 2008, Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games, KTVB Cares Day, the 2009 digital TV transition, 2010 Statehouse Renovation special and the 2008 and 2010 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway.
Before becoming executive news director, Kate served as the executive news producer of Idaho's top rated newscasts.
Before that, She was a broadcast producer for KSAZ-TV in Phoenix, Arizona where she maintained leading newscasts in every time slot she produced.
Kate grew up in Nampa, attended East Canyon Elementary School and graduated from Vallivue High School.
She began her journalism career in 1998 at the age of 16. By 1999, she began writing and producing in the Treasure Valley.
She attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
Kate has three children with her husband Sean.
