If you are driving around downtown Weiser, you will probably notice a unique building that looks very out-of-place.

A "castle" sits vacant, in the heart of downtown, cozy between two shops.

It is called The Pythias Castle, and was erected by the Knights of Pythias in 1904.  We took some photos of the outside, which you can see by sifting through our slideshow... but the inside tells a different story.

Boxes, benches, lumber, and other odds and ends clutter the inside of The Pythias Castle, which really isn't even a castle at all.  The medevil exterior is a facade to hide what is actually being stored inside.

You may be wondering, "What's the point?"

While the castle may have been used as a meeting place in the past, it now appears to be serving as storage, but it is also doing the job of sparking the curiosity of people passing by.  It sure got our attention!
