SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- Kyle Brotzman is undoubtedly one of the greatest kickers in Boise State history, but will likely be most well known around the nation for his two misses in the Broncos loss to Nevada, back in November of 2010.

"Pretty much your either hated or your loved and you know when you sign up for it and you're just going to have to deal with it," said Brotzman about being a kicker at any level."

Folloing the Nevada game, the Treasure Valley native did not speak with any media for the rest of the season and not until this week did Idaho's News Channel 7 get an opportunity to speak with the former Bronco.

Brotzman was quiet in part because of how some in Bronco nation dealt with the situation.  Angry fans made threatening calls to his family and even posted nasty messages on social media sites.

The Meridian native said he was not surprised about some fans anger, but what did shock him was the amount of support he received.

"The most surprising was all the good that everyone showed.  I was so impressed by it and amazed by it and you know I never thought anything like that would ever happen with all the support people came out with and it was a big time, a big event in my life and it kind of helped me get through a lot of bad things," said the former BSU kicker.  "You know, that's going to be a lasting memory for me and I have got tons of great memories at Boise State."

Now, Brotzman is making even more memories as he continues his career in the Arena Football League.

The former Bronco signed on to be the kicker with the Utah Blaze in the middle of June and really enjoys being around his new teammates who aren't interested in his missed kicks.

"You know they kind of welcomed me with open arms," said the Blaze kicker.  "They always want to talk about some of the records I have and you know the Fiesta Bowl and all the accomplishments I had at Boise State and not those two kicks."

Brotzman is hopeful he'll make even more great memories in his AFL career.

On Saturday he and his Utah Blaze team travel to Spokane to play the first ever outdoor arena league game, ever.
