The Boise State football team isn't getting quite the respect from Sports Illustrated that it has gotten from other polls. This weekend the Broncos will be ranked eighth in the magazine's top ten standings. SI ranked Alabama as its top team. The magazine will also feature Stanford on the cover of it West edition.

Sports Illustrated Preseason Poll

1. Alabama

2. Oklahoma

3. LSU

4. Stanford

5. Oregon

6. Florida St.

7. South Carolina

8. Boise State

Boise State head coach Chris Petersen made an appearance on ESPN's Jim Rome is Burning on Tuesday. Petersen did an interview in front of the blue turf of Bronco Stadium, wearing a blue shirt with white lines on it. The host of the show, Jim Rome, joked that he couldn't see Petersen. The coach said that he planned it that way. He also addressed the question about Boise State not being allowed to wear all blue uniforms on the blue turf.

"Well, I just didn't really see the point in it. We've worn blue on blue for such a long time," Petersen said. "I know our film at times can be difficult to see, but it's more so because of our camera angles. I think everybody is going to this high definition film these days, and our press box is so high, that it's not a great shot. I think we're going to try to put a camera on a different level. I think it's making a big deal out of nothing."

Once the season starts, fans can watch a new coaches show on News Channel 7 titled "Inside Bronco Football With Coach Pete."

The show will air at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday nights, and will feature coach Petersen breaking down past games and looking ahead to upcoming opponents.
