SCAPPOOSE, Oregon -- A Scappoose woman is recovering after police said her 51-year-old boyfriend shot her in the face early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the home at 52636 NW 2nd Street in Scappoose just before 4 a.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived they found the 45-year-old woman on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the chin.
The woman was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland where she underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition.
The suspect, who was identified as Mark Gardner of Scappoose, was taken into custody and lodged at the Columbia County Jail.
