AUBURN, Wash. - Searchers in Skamania County Tuesday found a 14-year-old boy safe after he got lost during a hike Monday night.

Skamania County deputies said he called around 8:45 saying he had been separated from his hiking party after being in the woods near Goose Lake for about five hours.

Skamania County, Wind River Search and Rescue, and Pacific Crest Dogs teams started the search. The boy was found around noon and taken to the Mt. Adams ranger station.

He was last seen on Forest Service Rd 6615. Skamania County before his phone went dead while talking to dispatchers. The boy said he hadn't eaten for some time, but was having no medical problems, deputies said.
