Girl critically injured in Eagle crash dies
BOISE -- A teenage girl who was among four people seriously hurt in a State Street wreck Monday has died.
Family members confirmed Thursday that 14-year-old Destiney Jacobs, a student at Eagle High, passed away from her injuries at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Wednesday morning. Her heart will be donated to another patient in need, her family said.
The teen's death has been ruled an accident by the Ada County Coroner.
Destiney and three others were hospitalized after a collision between the passenger car they were riding in and a pickup truck. Jamie Vincent, 36, was driving the trio to school when investigators say she made a left turn onto Park Lane, and was T-boned by the oncoming truck.
Destiney was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the coroner's office.
Destiney's brother, Kevin Jacobs, and Vincent's son Jonas both remain in the Intensive Care Unit at Saint Alphonsus. Vincent was also injured in the crash, but has been released from the hospital.
