Alex Livingston

From the Garden State to the Gem State, Alex is excited to be working as a reporter in the Treasure Valley!

Although she is a "Jersey Girl" through and through, she's happy to be in "Idahome" where she has family to explore with!

She joined KTVB's team in April of 2016 after working as a reporter/anchor in West Virginia for a year and a half. While she was there she was able to cover a wide variety of stories including the growing drug epidemic which brought President Barack Obama to the state for a news conference (No she didn't get to take a selfie with the President).

Alex loves to do human interest pieces, which came about after doing a story about historic flooding in West Virginia and speaking with families who in some cases were trapped in their homes or lost everything. One of her favorite and most life-changing pieces was a three part series she did focusing on the growing rates of babies in the state being born addicted to drugs and interviewing doctors at "Lily's Place," a rehabilitation center for infants and the only one like it in the country.

Before starting her career, Alex did most of her growing up in New Jersey with her parents and four younger siblings. She stayed close to home and went to college at Saint Peter's University where she played Division I tennis. She graduated early with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and a minor in Marketing Management.

When Alex isn't out covering breaking news or hunting down a story you can find her doing just about anything that keeps her active, she is a total gym rat! She especially loves hiking with her dog Piper (named after Piper from Orange is the New Black) and running through Boise. Sports is still a huge part of her life so you will also find her cheering on her three brothers during their high school/college games through any media source she can get her hands on! Alex is a certified foodie, loves going to the different restaurants downtown, and is obsessed with Pinterest.

If you have a story idea give Alex a call, she'd love to hear it! You can e-mail her, follow her on Twitter and 'Like' her on Facebook.
